LOAN REVIEW
BMI’s loan review services are delivered by experienced bankers and former regulators. The reviews process covers three distinct components: File Review, Loan Policy Review and Portfolio Performance Review. The file review includes underwriting compliance, risk rating testing, and documentation compliance. Senior loan management will be provided with a scope of review and copies of all work papers along with an executive summary of the review.
STRATEGIC PLANNING
The planning process focuses on the board of directors along with executive management setting the direction of the bank. Once the goals, objective, and direction of the bank are defined, management can develop a business plan that steers the bank toward these goals. The directors are interviewed individually, prior to the planning meeting. Additionally, the senior management team is also interviewed. The information from these interviews is used to shape the planning meeting. BMI also provides an independent analysis of the bank and produces a summary planning document.
REGULATORY ADMINISTRATIVE ORDERS
Banks that are faced with the challenge of responding to and compiling with administrative orders often need outside assistance. BMI’s expertise includes negotiating the terms of the order prior to its issuance, developing the work process and timelines required to comply with the order as regulatory agencies have specific language and expectations relative to these orders. In this area,
BMI’s services provided include:
• Capital Planning
• Impaired Asset Reduction Planning
• Management Studies
• Board Reporting & Approvals
• Quarterly Summary Reports
• Concentration Reduction Planning
• Budget and Projections
• Policy Review
PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT
Improved performance of an organization has three components:
• Risk Management
• Revenue Enhancement
• Cost Controls (operating and funding)
The implementation of a formal outside calling/sales program and an internal cross-selling effort are essential to success. The most successful banks tend to have strong non-interest income streams. They tend to develop increased depth of existing internal and external relationships. Success requires that performance evaluation tools and compensation programs must be designed to complement the bank’s performance goals.
